Terrence Brown hasn't been in Chapel Hill very long, but his impact has already been felt.

From quickly rising to a fan favorite to highlight-reel dunks that have surfaced on social media, Brown has the fan base excited to finally see him compete as a Tar Heel this fall.

However, the excitement doesn't stop with the fans, as former Tar Heels are also raving about just how good this guy is at the sport of basketball.

Former Tar Heel Mike Copeland is already impressed with Terrence Brown

While making a guest appearance on the Tar Heel 247 Basketball Pod, hosted by fellow former Tar Heel John Henson, Mike Copeland had nothing but great things to say about the UNC basketball program's transfer addition.

Copeland goes in-depth as to what impresses him about Brown's game, but one simple statement tells you everything you need to know:

"Terrence Brown, bro...he's a dog."

"He (Brown) doesn't take any plays off," Copeland said. "He plays hard on defense, trying to lock up guys. He's getting to the basket; that's another thing. He doesn't settle. I love that. Don't settle for no daggum three all the time. He's coming off screens, he's trying to get to the basket.

Copeland also went in depth about his athleticism, noting that the Tar Heels were throwing lobs over the rim for him and how easy he made it look to finish at the rim. From watching him, Copeland knows he has that dog mentality, and it didn't take him very long to realize it.

Brown was one of the key additions for the Tar Heels this offseason as they built Michael Malone's first roster in Chapel Hill. A talented point guard who has thrived at both of his prior college stops (Fairleigh Dickinson and Utah), Brown is an explosive scoring guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways.

Caleb Wilson makes NBA Summer League history with unforgettable debut performance

Heading into his senior season, Brown is hoping to serve as the catalyst for the Tar Heels this upcoming season. One thing is for sure: this dude is an absolute baller, and is already drawing rave reviews from those who have seen his early work in Chapel Hill.

It's hard not to get excited for the upcoming 2026-2027 season, especially with all the hype that some of the newcomers have already been drawing. This season serves as a fresh start for the program, but the expectations are always the same in Chapel Hill.

Of all the newcomers, Brown might just be the guy that Tar Heel fans are most excited to see play at the Dean Smith Center. Rightly so, Brown has earned the hype around him, as he hopes this next chapter in his college basketball career is his best one yet.

For now, we'll all have to rely on the credible sources (aka former UNC basketball players) who have stopped by Chapel Hill this offseason to see what Michael Malone and the new look Tar Heels have brewing as they prepare for the upcoming season.
