Michael Malone and the Tar Heels waited it out and got their guy: Terrence Brown, YOU are a Tar Heel!

Terrence Brown commits to North Carolina

Brown, a rising senior, has officially committed to North Carolina. The move was one that Tar Heel fans were waiting on, given all signs pointed to Brown becoming a Tar Heel.

His recruitment was delayed a bit due to personal reasons, but it didn't push the Tar Heels away one bit. In fact, the Tar Heels have been firmly in the mix for his services throughout his transfer portal recruitment, as they made a strong push before he visited Kansas a few days later.

Fortunately, Kansas' pitch wasn't good enough to top what Michael Malone and the Tar Heels had to offer.

One thing that is very impressive about Brown is his ability to continue improving his overall game. His field goal percentage and three-point shooting have trended upward during his three seasons at the college ranks, and his assist numbers have also nearly doubled from the production he put together during his freshman season.

This is the perfect example of a guy who was undervalued heading into college, took a chance on himself at a mid-major program, proved his value, and continued to rise up the ranks. After proving he was capable of similar production (if not better) in the Big 12, Brown is now looking to take another step as he aims to end his college career in style.

He will look to make that leap in Chapel Hill, joining forces with a former NBA championship coach who knows just what it takes to make it (and succeed) at the next level.

This is a huge addition for North Carolina, as Brown is regarded as one of the top guards in the transfer portal market. The job is far from finished, as Malone and the UNC coaching staff still have plenty of work to do to build a championship-caliber roster for the 2026-2027 season.

Adding Brown is a huge step in the right direction for that process!
