When it comes to those within the Carolina family, the consensus is much different than what we've seen from the general public and the media. Some notable former Tar Heels have voiced their opinion on the matter, as former national champion Justin Jackson shared his thoughts on social media.
Justin Jackson urges UNC to retain Hubert Davis
Jackson, a key member of the 2017 national championship squad, had the opportunity to be coached by Davis when he was an assistant for Roy Williams. Jackson doesn't believe that a change needs to be made, and is urging the university to think long and hard before making such a drastic move.
For the record, I love Coach Davis. We won a national championship and spent some amazing time together through the years. I hope we can keep HD and the current staff, while making whatever changes that need to be made to keep the UNC brand what it has been for so long!

Jackson has the fan base torn
There are plenty of people who agree with Jackson. On the flip side, there are plenty of others who don't.

In all honesty, you can be justified by supporting either side. There are pros and cons to every situation, and there are many different circumstances to consider when having to make a decision of this magnitude.
Let's face it: most people who believe that parting ways with Davis probably hate it due to the fact that he is so beloved at the University of North Carolina.
