UNC's Seth Trimble visits an Eastern Conference squad for a pre-draft workout

Throughout the last couple of weeks, we've heard a lot about some of the Tar Heels who have tested the NBA Draft waters.

Of course, Caleb Wilson, a projected top-five pick, draws the most attention, while Henri Veesaar has also worked to make his case to be a first-round selection. We also anxiously awaited news about Matt Able, the NC State transfer who decided to withdraw from the draft to head to UNC for his sophomore season.

However, since the NBA G League Combine, we haven't heard much about fan favorite Seth Trimble. While he didn't earn an invite to the NBA Draft Combine, Trimble is still working to showcase his talents to NBA executives, as one Eastern Conference organization wanted to take a closer look at the high-flying guard.

The Indiana Pacers shared photos from a prospect workout that they conducted on Thursday, fittingly sharing a photo of Trimble doing what he does best: elevating toward the rim.

Trimble was one of a handful of players who the Pacers invited for a workout, allowing them to get a closer look at some of the players that have caught their eye. Based on what's been reported, this seems to be Trimble's first pre-draft workout, but it's very possible that others have either occurred or are scheduled to take place leading up to this year's draft on June 23.

Tar Heel fans know exactly what he brings to the table: elite athleticism, high-level defensive skills, and a strong ability to get to the rim and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. For teams looking for guard depth, Trimble certainly could make a case to earn a roster spot, given his intangibles and versatility make him an intriguing prospect with long-term potential.

Even though he didn't necessarily serve as a primary ball-handler during his time at North Carolina, Trimble's opportunity to be selected in this year's draft might be from a team who projects him more at the point guard position. In the landscape of today's NBA, it's not easy to find players who take pride in defending like Trimble does, as he is a guy who can score and facilitate on offense but makes the biggest impact on the game defensively and with his elite athleticism.

Without a doubt, Tar Heel fans are rooting for Trimble to find a home in the NBA. For someone who poured his heart and soul into the UNC basketball program, he is sure deserving of the opportunity and without a doubt will be ready when his number is called.
