Not long ago, UNC basketball coach Hubert Davis delivered some great news - Seth Trimble is progressing better than expected from his injury. We don't have to tell you that getting Trimble back on the floor soon is what this team needs.
It might be time for Hubert Davis to make another starting lineup change
The one and only Dick Vitale knows just how important Trimble is for this team moving forward too. On Tuesday night, the Tar Heels were able to record a brilliant road win against Kentucky in Lexington. In the middle of the action, Dickie V didn't hold back in hyping up Trimble.
“Seth Trimble - you mentioned the free-throw line? Last year he went to the line 140 times,” Vitale said late in the first half of UNC's win. “So, he’s had people in foul trouble, he’s an elite defender. He’s a special player. No doubt he will give Carolina a big, big lift (when he returns).”
Dick Vitale knows Seth Trimble will make a big impact for UNC when he returns
A big, big lift? We're going to go ahead and agree with Vitale there, as he's a special player. Not only that, but he's a veteran leader on and off the court for the Heels. As soon as Trimble is able to lace up his sneakers and get back on the hardwood, it's going to be huge for this team.
UNC's confidence is riding high right now after that win over Kentucky. On Thanksgiving, a bit of a setback was posted with the loss to Michigan State, but if anything, it was a reminder that the Heels still had a lot to work on and the excitement surrounding Caleb Wilson wasn't going to be enough to keep everyone happy.
Wilson has been sensational, as has fellow newcomer Henri Veesaar. Luka Bogavac has stepped in nicely too, getting better with each game. However, Trimble is going to be the straw that stirs the drink for UNC once he's back to full health. There's no set date for when he'll play again, but it can't come any sooner for Davis and his staff.
