Following the loss to Miami earlier this month, North Carolina and Hubert Davis have also been without Caleb Wilson for the last four games. He suffered his left hand fracture, but the Heels have managed to win three of those contests without him - keep in mind Henri Veesaar also missed two games.
Seth Trimble's latest big game just thrust him into elite ACC company
Yes, Seth Trimble, Jarin Stevenson and others have stepped up big time, but there's also another playmaker who deserves the attention he's getting right now. In this case, we're talking about wing Luka Bogavac, who's in his first season in Chapel Hill.
In the last four games, Bogavac, who also came up huge when Trimble was injured earlier this season, indeed has been fantastic. He's posting 12.3 points per game during that stretch, shooting better than 40 percent from the floor. He was strong in the win over Louisville too, posting 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
Luka Bogavac has answered the bell for UNC since Caleb Wilson has been out

In the last 4 games, he’s averaging 12.3 points on 44.2% shooting from the field. Also hasn’t turned it over in the last 2 games

Luka Bogavac is heating up at the right time for UNC basketball and Hubert Davis
On the season, Bogavac is averaging 10 points a game, consistently showing out for the Heels and Davis. The fact that he's playing so strong when North Carolina is dealing with injury concerns is a major relief for this team and part of the reason he was brought in.
Much was said about North Carolina missing out on top transfer portal targets last offseason, but Davis was able to work his magic and land Bogavac late - there were some concerns about him getting cleared, but the wait was worth the wait there.
With Trimble hurt, Bogavac scored in double figures in eight of the nine games the veteran point guard wasn't on the floor for. And now, he's once again looking sharp with Wilson injured. Bogavac is becoming Mr. Reliable for Davis, which is great to see.
Soon enough, the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament will get here. While Bogavac isn't going to be a widely-known name across the country, the UNC faithful will know he'll be ready to answer the call whenever his number is called. He's been so much fun to watch too and it feels like he's only getting started.
