Searching for an elite-level big man to add to their 2027 recruiting class, UNC has identified another potential target that would fit nicely in Chapel Hill: five-star Lewis Uvwo.
Uvwo, the top-ranked center in his graduating class, has been heavily recruited already, with schools such as Duke, Mississippi State, LSU, Kansas, and Kentucky (among others) already putting the full court press on for him. Now, add UNC to that list of schools hoping that Ovwo will eventually commit to their school.

As announced on his Instagram page, Uvwo revealed that the UNC basketball program became the latest school to extend him an offer. This one shouldn't be surprising after the coaching staff had the opportunity to watch him during Peach Jam this past weekend in Augusta, Georgia.

A 6-foot-10 center who competes for the Nightrydas Elite on the EYBL circuit, Ovwo is one of the biggest risers that this recruiting class has had over the last few months. His shot-blocking ability is insane, a skill set that earned him the first-ever 17U EYBL Defensive Player of the Year award.
Want an eye-popping stat? Uvwo averaged, yes, averaged, 5.1 blocks per game!
On an even crazier note, in seven games at Peach Jam, he swatted away even more shots, averaging six blocks per contest.
