Juke Harris is a hot commodity on the transfer portal market, and rightly so.

While he contemplates his future (whether he will stay in the NBA Draft or find a new college landing spot for his junior season), the Salisbury, North Carolina native has plenty of options to choose from. If he elects to return to college for another year, he will be in the market for a major payday, as his expected price tag is around what you'd expect for a player of his caliber.

Juke Harris' potential price tag has been revealed

Pete Nakos of On3 broke down the latest developments in Harris' recruitment, and provided the estimated cost it will take for a college program to land him.

While there's been numbers floated around, Nakos confirmed that $3 million seems to be at least the starting point.

North Carolina, Michigan, and Tennessee have all been heavily active in this particular recruitment, as each of the programs seem to be willing (and able) to spend top dollar to get him. Of course, if this becomes a bidding war, it will be interesting to see if any of these programs back out if the price gets too high.

Let's remember: college programs are operating with a specific budget in mind. It's very unlikely that any program would agree to a large NIL deal with one player, understanding how that one contract could impact the team's pursuit of other quality players to surround him with.

For UNC, it feels like Harris is at the top of their priority list, as Jim Tanner, Michael Malone, and the entire staff appear to be willing to meet the asking price. This recruitment could play out in their favor if Harris decides he wants to stay in his home state, an advantage North Carolina has over the other perceived "finalists" in this recruitment.

Of course, things can change, and the dynamic of the recruitment could shift as well. For now, the starting bidding price seems to be that $3 million number that Nakos provided, but don't be surprised if it ends up being more once we reach the finish line of Harris' recruitment.
