Michael Malone and the Tar Heels are not slowing down on the recruiting trail.

This past weekend, five-star talents CJ Rosser and Jordan Page were in town enjoying everything Chapel Hill has to offer. Now, the Tar Heels are set to host another five-star talent this upcoming weekend, another player that Malone and company would love to build their 2027 recruiting class around.

Five-star Beckham Black heading to Chapel Hill this weekend

Another important weekend is brewing in Chapel Hill as five-star guard Beckham Black is scheduled to take his trip to North Carolina.

Joe Tipton of Rivals was the first to report the news. Originally, the belief was that Black would make a trip to UNC, but the date was not publically revealed. Now, we not only know that it's coming, but that it is happening in the very near future.

Black is a top-tier prospect who has the absolute makings of being an instant game-changer from the moment he steps foot on a college campus. North Carolina isn't afraid to let the country know that they are heavily pursuing arguably the top player this graduating class has to offer, and are going to do everything in their power to make him the point guard of the future in Chapel Hill.

Let us dream a bit as we consider this potential scenario: imagine a 2027 recruiting class for UNC featuring a trio of five-star talents: Beckham Black, Jordan Page, AND CJ Rosser!

That would be quite the recruiting haul for Michael Malone's first class at North Carolina, one that features three of the top 12 ranked players that the Class of 2027 has to offer.

Considering that Rosser and Black are currently teammates at Southeastern Prep, it's very possible that the duo could look to continue playing together at the college level. What better place to do that than in Chapel Hill, playing for a coach who won an NBA title and knows exactly what a player needs to do in order to not only make it to the league, but stay there and be successful for a very long time.

Of course, recruiting is a world of chaos where anything goes. One day a prospect might be leaning toward one school and then instantly change their mind the next. You could be perceived as the "favorite" but not land the guy (or guys) you covet, as that full-court press coaches put on to land their premier targets doesn't stop until the player now essentially signs and steps foot on campus.

Just like the Tar Heels did this past weekend when Page and Rosser were in town, they will have that same energy for when Black arrives. When it comes to the guard position, Black is in that same category as Page and Nasir Anderson as guys the Tar Heels would love to have suit up for them next season.

Once again, roll out the Carolina Blue carpet; another future star is set to arrive for his official visit!
