Erik Paulsen delivered a mic-drop response to the 'Region of Death' talk

While some claimed it was the "Region of Death" for the Tar Heels, Erik Paulsen added his two cents following his team's title game victory.

Once the NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed, all anyone could talk about was how brutal the Chapel Hill Regional was.

Labeled as the "Region of Death," many "analysts" cited this regional as one where the host team could be sent home early. While the media and fans chattered about the strength of the Chapel Hill Regional field, the Diamond Heels put their heads down and did what they've essentially done all season long.

Dominate the competition.

Shortly after being named the Chapel Hill Regional Most Outstanding Player, junior first baseman Erik Paulsen was asked about the "Region of Death" narrative that was put into place.

His response was absolutely EPIC!

Erik Paulsen drops the mic with his epic "Region of Death" quote

"We knew it was the "Region of Death" for everyone else. We knew we were going to go out there and play our game, and when we play our best, no one can beat us."

You tell em Mr. Paulsen!

While the country may have doubted the boys in Carolina Blue, those in the locker room never wavered. Sure, they knew the region was made up of some very good teams, but when you reach this point in the season, you expect to play the best.

No one in Chapel Hill is ducking from the smoke: this is what these boys have worked for all season long.

So, in a very nice way, Erik Paulsen told the world to put some respect on UNC's name. For those that doubted them leading up to the Chapel Hill Regional, they can now officially eat their words, as the Diamond Heels let their play on the field do the talking.

Honestly, let those doubters keep doing their thing, it's only going to motivate the Tar Heels even more in their quest to Omaha.
