In the blink of an eye, it has felt like North Carolina's season has been flipped upside down. In case you somehow missed it, Caleb Wilson has suffered a fracture in his left hand and he's going to miss an extensive amount of time. What a disaster.
Caleb Wilson posts special message for UNC fans that everyone needed to see
With Wilson also expected to be one-and-done with the Tar Heels, speculation grew among the fanbase that the 5-star freshman had potentially played his last game with UNC, as he'd likely not rush back to the hardwood and focus on his NBA Draft prep instead.
Not going to happen. Not long after Wilson's injury news broke, the youngster made it clear to the North Carolina faithful that the love he has for the program can't be measured. On top of that, Wilson also said that his playing days in Carolina blue are not over:

Caleb Wilson made it clear he has not played his last game for UNC basketball
You've got to love seeing that from Wilson. Could anyone blame him if he did decide to sit out the rest of the campaign? Not at all, as he's looking to possibly be a Top 5 pick in the NBA Draft later this year and the last thing he's going to want to do is make things worse with his hand.
With that said, Wilson knows what playing for the Tar Heels means and it's not something that he's going to take for granted. Because of that, he's going to work overtime in his rehab and do everything he can to make sure he's back to full health to help out his teammates in the NCAA Tournament.
For now, there's no exact timeframe for when Wilson will be able to suit up again and we're not going to speculate on things. This is a bit of a tricky injury and Hubert Davis is not going to bring him back too soon. Despite that, Wilson is going to be chomping at the bit to play again.
Not having him in the lineup is going to sting for the Tar Heels, but we'll get a close-up look at how things can go this weekend with Pitt making its way to the Smith Center. Wilson will be on the bench cheering on this group, ready to help in any way that he can until he can lace up his game sneakers once again.
