Caleb Wilson's injury update was absolutely devastating for UNC fans.

After we all thought Wilson avoided a significant injury, the tide turned quickly when North Carolina announced that he suffered a fracture in his left hand.

Of course, the news led everyone to believe it's possible we've seen Wilson play for North Carolina, given he's undoubtedly heading to the NBA after this season. However, Wilson posted two encouraging posts that will have UNC fans feeling optimistic again.

Wilson believes he will return to the court this season

The freshman phenom posted on Instagram, using the caption, "Fall down 999 times and get up 1000! #godsplan✝️." If that wasn't motivation enough, just wait until you see what he said on his X account:

Wilson has been a man of his word

Let's face it: Caleb Wilson has overexceeded expectations during his freshman season at North Carolina.

He has kept his word with essentially everything he's promised, especially leading his team to a massive victory over rival Duke. While the injury will sideline him for an indefinite amount of time, Wilson isn't letting it keep him down forever, vouching to return to play for UNC at some point this season.

We can attest that Tar Heel fans can trust No. 8, as he is truly a man of his word.

It's not over

Wilson is extremely positive following this heartbreaking news, which is very encouraging to see from the young man. We can all agree that it would be brutal for his time at North Carolina to end like this, as there still will be a whole new chapter that needs to be written.

Now, we all just wait and see how the injury progresses, anxiously awaiting his return to the court.

When he returns, you KNOW he will be motivated to take care of unfinished business.
