Over the next few days, expect to see some of Hubert Davis' former players taking to social media to express their gratitude for him.
While the University of North Carolina felt it was time to part ways with Davis, it doesn't (and shouldn't) take away from the type of man he is and the type of leader he was for the young men who called him coach.
Bubba Cunningham delivers the painful truth after the Hubert Davis firing
Caleb Wilson wasted no time posting a social media message to his now former coach, sending a short statement to thank him for what he's done for him.
Caleb Wilson speaks from the heart
While he only was coached by Davis for one season, the impact he made on Wilson seems to be very evident.
Calling him "one of the best men and coaches in my life," Wilson made sure to thank Davis for everything, as this relationship is one that started to build even before he was on campus as a Tar Heel.
Thank you for everything Coach Davis, one of the best men and coaches in my life.

This isn't easy for anyone
No one wants to see someone get fired from their job. If you are happy to see someone fired... shame on you.
Hubert Davis’s statement makes it crystal clear that UNC parting was not mutual
For the players, this hits home the hardest, as Davis was the guy they chose to commit to and play for during their college careers. Sure, the world of college athletics has changed drastically, but there are still plenty of student-athletes who choose a university for the right reason, especially when it comes down to who the coach is.
Wilson and Davis have definitely formed a tremendous bond, one that won't stop just because of this news. The two will always be tied together, as Davis was at the helm for arguably the best freshman season we've ever seen from a Tar Heel.
