Caleb Wilson isn't returning to Chapel Hill, but that doesn't mean he isn't trying to convince his soon-to-be former teammates to stay on campus.

The soon-to-be top-five draft pick in the upcoming NBA Draft is always going to bleed Carolina Blue, which has been very evident by how he's been so invested in the university in just a few short months on campus.

Now, with Michael Malone set to take over as the program's new head coach, Wilson is trying to convince one of his classmates to reconsider pursuing opportunities in the transfer portal.

Wilson compares Derek Dixon to one of Malone's former NBA stars

The UNC basketball program's social media accounts officially welcomed Malone to Chapel Hill, causing buzz from Tar Heel fans around the world. Wilson added to the buzz by commenting on the post, comparing Derek Dixon to an NBA star who played alongside Malone during Malone's time with the Denver Nuggets.

"Derek Dixon is Jamal Murray."

Murray was one of the stars on the Denver Nuggets team that Malone led to an NBA title. Since entering the league in 2016, Murray has been one of the league's best guards, serving as the perfect compliment to star big man Nikola Jokic.

Not only would Dixon returning to Chapel Hill for his sophomore season hype up the fan base, but him developing into a player of Murray's caliber would be an absolute dream scenario for the Tar Heels.

Caleb Wilson sees some similarities, and it's certain that Michael Malone likely echoes those sentiments.

Of course, Dixon will test the waters of the transfer portal, but didn't rule out the possibility to return to North Carolina. If he likes what Malone is selling, Dixon might just decide to come back, especially knowing that Malone has the background, experience and knowledge to help players not only develop, but to guide them on how to eventually become a successfull professional basketball player down the road.

Once Wilson convinces Dixon to return, we think he should start comparing Henri Veesaar to Jokic in an effort to keep him on campus for one more season!
