Caden Glauber's story is simply incredible.
The son of a former Major Leaguer, Glauber has made his own path to stardom, continuing to make a name for himself. Tar Heel fans have been firsthand witnesses to how dominant Glauber has been throughout his freshman season at North Carolina, which, in case you didn't know, is a year earlier than originally scheduled!
Yes, Glauber should've been graduating high school, getting ready to make his way to Chapel Hill. Good thing plans change!
In recognition of his stellar freshman season, Glauber accomplished something that no other Tar Heel pitcher has ever done.
Caden Glauber named the Perfect Game Co-Freshman Pitcher of the Year
Glauber has been named a Co-Freshman Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game, sharing the award with Sam Cozart of Texas. Both right-handers have been absolutely dominant, helping their respective teams make runs to Omaha.

They have both been exceptional for Omaha teams with Cozart going 6-0 (1.65 ERA & 71:12 K:BB), while Glauber went 10-0 with a 2.20 ERA and almost 100 K.https://t.co/6D3ReYEi5N pic.twitter.com/q4mEcToVqN
When Glauber takes the mound, the Diamond Heels have literally been unbeatable. Over his 25 total appearances this season, North Carolina is a perfect 25-0 in those games, telling you all you need to know about the type of impact he makes when he takes the mound.

Caden Glauber's story is an amazing one that is shaped by an MLB dad, a coaching staff that believed in him, and a kid that's performed and matured well beyond his years🌎 pic.twitter.com/0QXzusZOMo
In terms of where he ranks nationally, Glauber has the seventh-best ERA in the country (2.20), 10th best hits per nine (5.73) and eighth most victories (10). He is the first Tar Heel pitcher ever to earn a national freshman of the year honor, putting himself in a category of his own.
UNC fans can officially stop worrying about losing Scott Forbes
It's been a while since UNC has had a Perfect Game Rookie of the Year Award winner. You'd have to go back to 2011 for the last occurance when Colin Moran took home the award following his insane freshman season with the Diamond Heels.
When Glauber made the decision to reclassify up a grade, the intent wasn't for him to come in and develop. Scott Forbes and his staff knew that the young right-hander could make an immediate impact, and it's safe to say that the Diamond Heels are in a much better position having him on this year's pitching staff.
Let's face it: this dude is a special talent, and we're lucky to have him wearing a Carolina uniform.
