After winning the Chapel Hill region, four UNC baseball standouts earned All-Region honors for their standout performances.

The UNC baseball is well-represented on the All-Tournament team for the Chapel Hill Regional.

Four Diamond Heels have earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, as selected by the regional’s credentialed media members. Here’s a closer look at the four Tar Heels who earned this honor:

Catcher- Tomas Frick: The Tar Heels backstop had a great tournament offensively, as he had seven hits in 17 at-bats (.411 average). North Carolina’s sophomore catcher also blasted two big home runs over the span of regional play.

Third Baseman- Mac Horvath: The sophomore third baseman had some big games for the Tar Heels during the Chapel Hill Regional. Horvath went 3-4 with two home runs against Hofstra in the regional opener and followed it up with a strong 4-6 performance in a must-win game against VCU on Sunday night. Overall, Horvath was 8-23 at the plate over the four days of play.

Left Fielder- Mikey Madej: Madej was named the Most Outstanding Player of the region, as he had at least a hit in each of the Tar Heels’ five contests. He currently has a four-game multi-hit game streak and will look to continue that trend in the Super Regionals.

Center fielder- Vance Honeycutt: This one should be no surprise to anyone, as Honeycutt showcased why he’s one of the best freshman players in the entire country. From big-time home runs to game-saving catches, Honeycutt did a little bit of everything during the Chapel Hill Regional, similar to what he’s essentially done all season long.

These are well-deserved honors from some of the Diamond Heels’ standout players, as they’ll look to keep the success going in this weekend’s Super Regional.
