UNC Basketball: Tar Heels in ‘consistent contact’ with 2023 guard
By Zack Pearson
It was a wild month of June in terms of recruiting but it was one that saw the North Carolina Tar Heels pick up commitments from Seth Trimble and Will Shaver. While Hubert Davis and his staff landed two commitments in 2022, the Tar Heels didn’t forget about the 2023 class.
In addition to visits, programs were able to reach out to 2023 prospects as well as evaluate players in the month. And that’s exactly what Davis and UNC did.
Among the players that UNC reached out to is four-star combo guard Bryson Warren. The Missouri native saw his recruitment pick up a bit over the past month or so, drawing interest from UNC, Duke, Memphis and Kansas among others. As time has gone on, a few programs have been consistent in their contact with Warren and among them were the Tar Heels.
Per USA Today’s Jason Jordan, UNC is one of the teams that has been consistently contacting the talented recruit out of Missouri:
Warren has a total of 22 offers in his recruitment and that list is expected to continue to grow as time goes on. UNC has yet to offer the recruit but with it being early in the 2023 cycle, there’s plenty of time for that offer and we expect it to happen eventually.
So far, UNC has extended two offers to recruits in 2023 with guard Robert Dillingham being their top target. G.G. Jackson is the other player who has received an offer in the 2023 class from North Carolina.
Warren is ranked No. 32 overall, No. 4 combo guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He’s a prospect we will continue to monitor in terms of interest for UNC.
