Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program hosted yet another 4-star prospect on Wednesday, capping off a busy month of June on the recruiting trail.

Gregory “G.G.” Jackson made an unofficial visit to the University of North Carolina on Wednesday, capping off one of the busiest recruiting months in the history of the Tar Heel basketball program.

A 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward from Columbia, South Carolina, Jackson ranks among the top players at his position, and in the class of 2023 overall. That’s evidenced by the attention that he’s getting from coaches and scouts across the nation, and the dozen scholarship offers that he’s already holding on to.

Along with North Carolina — who offered Jackson in mid-June — his offer sheet includes Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, LSU, NC State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others. That list will only continue to grow over the next year, both in size and in stature. Look for Jackson to have interest from just about every big-name basketball program in the nation by the time his recruitment is all said and done.

A junior at Ridge View High School, Jackson has nice size and wing span, as well as an athletic and versatile skill set. He can dribble the ball particularly well for his position, and he’s good at running the floor. He can even lead the fast break, and put moves on defenders that you wouldn’t expect to see out of a 6-foot-9-inch power forward. Jackson is also a strong finisher around the rim, and can guard multiple positions on the defensive end of the court.

He’s the No. 30 prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, and nearing 5-star status. He’s the seventh-ranked power forward in the class, and No. 1 in the state of South Carolina. The Rivals150 has him ranked even higher at No. 20 in the 2023 class.
