Hubert Davis has officially landed his second recruit for the 2022 recruiting class after being on the job for just two months now with the UNC basketball program.

Just three weeks after Davis and his staff landed three-star center Will Shaver, they earned a commitment from a four-star guard in 2022. Seth Trimble officially pledged his verbal commitment to the Tar Heels on Wednesday afternoon, joining Davis’ first recruiting class as head coach and being the biggest commitment thus far.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Trimble picked North Carolina over Michigan in the end but dis also have a total of 14 offers. He recently took trips to both Michigan and North Carolina over the past few weeks and following those visits, he made his decision.

Trimble also has a legacy connection to North Carolina.

His brother, J.P. Tokoto, spent three seasons at North Carolina, picking the Tar Heels over in-state Wisconsin years ago. Tokoto even accompanied Trimble on his visits to Michigan and North Carolina, so the Tar Heels may have had the advantage from the get go in this recruitment.

Either way, adding a player like Tokoto who is a guard that can play both spots on the floor plus is an excellent defender is a good pickup for Davis.

Trimble is ranked No. 54 overall, the No. 9 point guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin per the 247Sports composite rankings. UNC’s class did jump up a few spots both nationally and in the Atlantic Coast Conference after landing this commitment.

With two recruits committed, Davis is off to a solid start. The Tar Heels are also involved with a few big five and four star recruits in 2022 as they look to build a solid class.
