UNC Recruiting: Former North Carolina target picks Indiana
Former North Carolina target picks Indiana over Kansas, Vanderbilt
The top remaining unsigned prospect in the class of 2018 made a decision on Monday night when Romeo Langford chose Indiana over Kansas and Vanderbilt.
The five-star shooting guard was once a target of Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels prior to trimming his list to just three teams in mid-November. It was then that Langford announced a final three via Twitter that included the Hoosiers, Jayhawks and Commodores.

Langford also reaffirmed at that time that his decision would come during the spring signing period in April, allowing himself as much time as possible to decide where he’d play basketball at the next level. He stuck true to that plan, waiting nearly six months to make his commitment.
Indiana was considered a favorite to land Langford from early on in his recruitment, and few people had any doubt whether or not the Hoosiers would be contenders until the time of his commitment.
Vanderbilt made a strong case to land the talented shooter, having ample playing time available and a pair of five-star prospects – Simisola Shittu and Darius Garland – already signed. Though the combination of Langford, Shittu and Garland would have easily been the best recruiting class in program history, the opportunity to stay home and play for the Hoosiers was just too much to turn down for the New Albany native.
Kansas had long been considered the darkhorse in Langford’s recruitment, and recent FBI probes regarding possible rules violations couldn’t have helped the Jayhawks any.

Fortunately for Williams and the Tar Heels, North Carolina signed a top-10 class of its own, headlined by five-star prospects Nassir Little and Coby White.
