One of the top players in the 2020 class has decided to change high schools. See where North Carolina Tar Heels target Isaiah Todd will attend in the fall.

The summer circuit is heating up for high schoolers, which means that the North Carolina Tar Heels’ coaching staff will be on the trail.

The coaches will be out watching some of the best talents and there may not be many better than Isaiah Todd.

Todd has been a main target for the North Carolina for a little while now. The 6-10 forward was one of the best freshmen in the country in 2017, but he built on that with an even stronger sophomore campaign. ESPN currently has him at number three in their 2020 rankings.

The offers have followed suit of his game and now Todd is one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. North Carolina has yet to offer Todd, but there is reason to believe an offer is coming soon.

But for his junior season, Todd will be making his home in North Carolina. Todd announced his intentions to transfer to North Carolina’s Trinity Academy, in Raleigh.

The decision comes in part to be closer to his trainer. But this could also be taken as a sign that he wants to be closer to some blue blood programs. North Carolina and Duke are just down the road, both of which will be big players in his recruitment. NC State has also been in touch with Todd.

This could be huge for Roy Williams and the Tar Heels for this recruitment. Having him just down the road means he can prioritize Todd in his final years in high school.

But it also means Todd can be on campus at UNC to take in all the sights and sounds during the season. This decision could be huge in his recruitment.

Nobody expects Todd to wrap this recruitment up early, so this could get interesting. The three triangle schools could fight over Todd for a couple of years to come.
