Five-star recruit Nassir Little throws down big time dunk

The future is bright for the University of North Carolina men’s basketball program, thanks to a 2018 recruiting class that ranks among the top five in the nation.

The class is led by five-star prospect Nassir Little, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound small forward out of Orlando Christian Prep in Orlando, Florida.

Little is the No. 7 overall prospect in the class of 2018 according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the fourth-ranked player at his position and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Florida, behind only R.J. Barrett, the top-ranked player in the class.

Little is the Tar Heels’ highest-ranked recruit since James Michael McAdoo in 2011 and its first top-10 commit since Justin Jackson in 2014. The talented wing held nearly 40 scholarship offers, including ones from Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Louisville and Miami, before eventually deciding on North Carolina.

And his star still appears to be on the rise, what with his recent jump in ranking (No. 9 to No. 7) and continued display of skill and athleticism.

Over the weekend, Little put down a massive two-handed slam over fellow five-star prospect Emmitt Williams.

Little received the pass at the free throw line before taking one dribble into the paint and then soaring into the air toward the basket. He quickly rose up above two defenders, the closest of which was Williams, before absorbing contact and throwing it down with authority.

Little would finish the game with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, but his dunk was the highlight of his night, and the game. He fouled out with just over a minute left in the game, and Orlando Prep fell to Oak Ridge 64-61.
