If you're still in shock that Caleb Wilson is out for the season due to a broken thumb, trust us when we say you're not the only one. This is heartbreaking news for North Carolina and it changes everything for the ACC Tournament and Big Dance.

Oh, and it also impacts Saturday night's contest at Duke, even if it was previously up in the air if Wilson would play or not. Is it possible that maybe Vegas knew some brutal news was coming, though? Potentially, as the opening odds were posted earlier in the day on Friday and Duke is favored by a head-turning 15.5 points per the FanDuel Sportsbook.

UNC vs. Duke opening betting line basically gives the Heels no shot at an upset

We'll admit, when we first saw that opening line, we thought that Wilson was 100 percent going to be out for Saturday's tilt. However, we also never envisioned that the 5-star freshman was dealing with yet another serious injury behind the scenes.

As it turns out, Wilson broke his thumb during practice on Thursday after he threw down a dunk. The fact that that's how his incredible first season in Chapel Hill has come to a close is infuriating. With him being a projected Top 5 pick too, it's safe to say he has played his last game with the Tar Heels.

North Carolina previously took down Duke this season, with Seth Trimble getting everyone at the Smith Center off their seats with his epic game-winning 3-pointer. More magic will be needed from Trimble and his teammates in order for arguably the biggest upset of the year to be posted.

The fact that the spread is 15.5 points is absurd and there could even be some movement on things before tip-off. Not having Wilson in action is a major blow for this team. You've got to feel terrible for him too, as Wilson clearly has incredible love for the program and he cherishes what being a Tar Heel means. It's just not fair that his campaign had to end this way.
