The roster dominoes continue to fall for the UNC basketball program.
Following Isaiah Denis' announcement of his entry into the transfer portal, news surfaced that another Tar Heels guard is following his path there as well.

On Monday morning, news surfaced that Jaydon Young will enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. He becomes the second Tar Heel from last season's roster to state his intentions.
Young was a surprise addition via the transfer portal a year ago. A Tar Heel fan growing up, Young transferred from Virginia Tech to North Carolina, fulfilling his lifelong goal of wearing the Carolina Blue uniform.
After serving as a key contributor for Virginia Tech during the 2024-2025 season, Young's first season in Chapel Hill didn't reap the same benefits. While he did appear in 31 games (making four starts), his minutes drastically decreased, as he averaged just over seven minutes per-contest.
His best performance came on January 10, a game in which his season-high 12 points helped the Tar Heels secure a 87-84 victory over Wake Forest.
While his numbers took a major hit, he served as a player that Hubert Davis could rely on in spurts to provide a spark. Often times, especially down the stretch, Young was called upon to help provide a defensive boost, filling in when the Tar Heels experienced foul trouble or just simply needed to give guys breathers.
With the head coaching change brewing in Chapel Hill, it should be expected that some players will enter the transfer portal to explore other opportunities. For Young, he's a guy who might've elected to enter the portal regardless of whether Hubert Davis stayed at the helm or not, given he's likely looking for more playing time heading into his senior season.
We will continue to provide all the latest news and offseason rumors surrounding the UNC basketball program in our transfer portal tracker.
