We're all waiting for a final decision to come in.

While Michael Malone and North Carolina are putting in serious work going after transfer portal players, one of the most important calls that needs to be made will come from standout big man and fan favorite Henri Veesaar.

UNC's latest transfer portal entry is the least surprising one yet

Will he bolt for the NBA or return for one more season in Chapel Hill? Earlier in the week, major concern arrived, as a rumor was flying on social media that Veesaar had already left campus and he was no longer enrolled in classes. Thankfully, the trustworthy Andrew Jones of 247Sports cleared up what was posted on a Tar Heel 247 message board, saying it was not an accurate report at all:

UNC fans are waiting for Henri Veesaar to make his NBA Draft decision

If you need further confirmation that the rumor is false, Veesaar still shows up in the UNC directory for students. So, any claims that he's no longer enrolled at the university are false. Could he end up leaving for the NBA Draft? Sure, that's still on the table.

However, once again, no final decision has been made by the playmaker, though the hope is he'll communicate his plans to Malone and his staff soon. Not long ago, Veesaar was projected to be a late first-round pick, but things have changed there quite a bit.

Recent mock drafts have him slated to go in the middle of the second round, while ESPN's updated big board rankings had him ranked the No. 44 prospect for the 2026 draft class. If he's expected to fall that much in June, wouldn't it make more sense to just return to the Tar Heels to boost his stock for next year?

That's what the UNC faithful is thinking, as it could be a win-win for him. Veesaar could play a full season under Malone, who is an NBA champion and knows how to develop players. Then next June, he can hopefully hear his name called in the first round like he's always dreamed of. From our chair, that'd be a no-brainer for Veesaar, but he's clearly torn on what to do here.
