The UNC football program has reached out to South Alabama transfer Fluff Bothwell. The freshman running back ran for 832 yards after 111 carries for the Jaguars — ending the season with 13 touchdowns. Bothwell's production helped propel his team to six wins.

Bothwell's rookie's longest run of the season was 59 yards — his best performance occurred on Thursday, December 12, against the Northwestern State Demons, running 143 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns. His performance was en route to an 87-10 victory at home.

The Tar Heels have already extended an offer to Penn University running back Malachi Hosley. However, seeking other backs doesn't hurt one bit — especially with the new era of Bill Belichick entering Chapel Hill.

Belichick has raised the bar for UNC's football program, setting a high standard for next season with a cool, calm and collected swagger — as seen in his introductory press conference. There were tons of media on hand, from cameras to sports journalists and the local news stations.

An event that was unexpected to happen by North Carolina fans — UNC is a basketball school.

Or is it turning into a football school? It surely feels like it in more ways than one.

It'll be hard to pass up playing for a former NFL coach, as a matter of fact, a six-time Super Bowl champion. Belichick knows how to get to the NFL and develop young players so they can chase their dreams and make millions of dollars.

Belichick is also expected to surround his coaching staff with NFL talent — there is no room for error in year one inside the college world. Chapel Hill is buzzing and it will stay like this for a while, especially with the national coverage.

Change is happening; it's a beautiful thing to see.
