The Bill Belichick era is underway as he has extended an offer to Penn University running back Malachi Hosley. Hosley stands at 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds and comes from Columbus, Georgia. He ran 1,192 yards on 191 carries for the Quakers, accumulating nine touchdowns by the end of his sophomore season.

Junior running back Omarion Hampton will likely enter next year's NFL Draft following a massive outing. One that watched him rack up 1,660 yards after 281 carries. At the end of the regular season, Hampton stands with 15 touchdowns to his name. His longest run of the season stretches to 75 yards.

Hosley would be a great addition to Belichick's first roster as the UNC football program's head coach. His best performance from this season came on Saturday, November 9, when he ran for 192 yards with an average of 7.1 per carry. He accounted for two rushing touchdowns in a game Pennsylvania won 67-49 over Cornell on the road.

One detail that should not go left unmentioned is how Hosley had zero fumbles on the season β€” a crucial aspect of the running back position.

This is only one of many running backs Belichick will offer, but the effort he has made to begin the recruiting train should receive props. There will be a ton of learning curves, considering his coaching experience lies in the NFL. However, it'll be a ton of fun watching him grow and possibly exceed at the college level.

It will be a great story to tell later down the line.

Belichick and his general manager, Michael Lombardi, are on a mission to reinvent the lifestyle of UNC football in Chapel Hill. Whatever the future holds, it's surely exciting β€” this is a new age of Carolina football, a kind that has never been seen before until now.

Perhaps the wait was worth it after all β€” just sit back and relax, Tar Heels.
