To the surprise of absolutely no one, North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton was named to the ACC Team of the Week. Defensive teammate Beau Atkinson was named to the team as defensive lineman of the week.

Omarion Hampton ran all over the Seminoles. He carried the rock 32 times for 172 rushing yards, caught three passes for 93 receiving yards, and collected five touchdowns. It was a performance that will be played over and over in the nightmares of Florida State defenders.

And while it was a great day at the office, it was also a historical performance, as it carried Hampton over the 3,000 career rushing yards mark. His 3,083 rushing yards put Hampton at No. 7 all-time on the UNC football program's career rushing yards list. With three games left in the regular season and perhaps a bowl game, he is in hot pursuit of No. 6 Don McCauley (3,172 yards) and No.5 Kelvin Bryant (3,267).

Beau Atkinson only went and equaled his freshman season in sacks in a single game. His 3.5 sacks helped Geoff Collins stack seven team sacks against Florida State, a worrying drop in production after sacking Virginia quarterbacks 10 times the week prior.

It was an outstanding performance for the UNC football program's sophomore. With a year under his belt, Atkinson is getting better attacks against opposing offensive linemen and getting home quicker. He has seen a spike in production after the first bye week following the Georgia Tech loss, so it's intriguing to think about what he might accomplish in the final three games after North Carolina's second bye week.
