If Michael Malone is looking to make a major offseason splash, securing a commitment from Terrence Brown would definitely fit the bill!
Brown is arguably the top guard in the transfer portal, as he's a proven bucket-getter who has done just that at both of his previous landing spots.
From Fairleigh Dickinson to Utah to North Carolina? According to Jeff Goodman, it's very much a possibility.
Terrence Brown includes UNC on his short-list of schools
Utah transfer Terrence Brown is considering the following schools, a source close to the situation told @TheFieldOf68.

North Carolina, USC, Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon and Ole Miss.

Goodman reported that Brown is focusing on six schools in his recruitment. Along with North Carolina, the Minneapolis, Minnesota native is also looking closely at USC, Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon and Ole Miss, as the Tar Heels will need to beat out two Blue Bloods (one of which is coached by the legendary Bill Self) to secure a commitment from Brown.
One thing that is very impressive about Brown is his ability to continue improving his overall game. His field goal percentage and three-point shooting have trended upward during his three seasons at the college ranks, and his assist numbers have also nearly doubled from the production he put together during his freshman season.
This is the perfect example of a guy who was undervalued heading into college, took a chance on himself at a mid-major program, proved his value and continued to rise up the ranks. After proving he was capable of similar production (if not better) in the Big 12, Brown now is looking to take another step as he aims to end his college career in style.
For a guy who has the skillset that Brown possesses, it would make a ton of sense why he would be intrigued by the possibility of being coached by Michael Malone, a guy with an NBA championship who has played a key role in developing some of the brightest stars that the sport has to offer.
The pairing makes a ton of sense, as Malone would get the veteran point guard he is looking for while Brown has the chance to play for a guy who knows the ins and outs of the NBA and can help get him to that next level once his college basketball career comes to a close.
If you're keeping tabs on UNC's potential transfer portal options, Terrence Brown might just be a legitimate option for the Tar Heels to lure in this recruiting cycle.
