What can we expect from the UNC basketball team next season? While some fans are excited for the future, a lot of hater thinks Hubert Davis and Co. are in for another rough go of things. If you ask the guys over at The Field of 68, they think Davis is going to be in trouble in 2025-26.

During a recent podcast, the state of the Tar Heels was of course brought up, as the offseason hasn't gone according to plan. Davis has swung and missed on a lot of his top targets, seeing guys sign with other powerhouse. The Field of 68 Founder Rob Dauster didn't hold back in saying UNC has been less than impressive in recent months too:

Hubert Davis continues to get called out for a rough UNC offseason

To start things off, Dauster wasn't too pleased with how the point guard position was addressed by Davis and his staff. Several PG targets were contacted, but the Heels had to settle with Colorado State transfer Kyan Evans. With Elliot Cadeau transferring to Michigan, Evans will end up being the RJ Davis replacement. Not good enough, Dauster said.

"They ended up with Kyan Evans and all due respect to Kyan Evans, a good player at Colorado State last year, but if you're North Carolina and you're trying to replace RJ Davis and you have Elliot Cadeau leave and you end up with a guy who was the third-best player on Colorado State last year to be the point guard for a North Carolina basketball program, that to me is not a great sign."

Dauster wasn't overly impressed with the other transfer additions, which were Jaydon Young, Jarin Stevenson, Henri Veesaar and Jonathan Powell. Where's the superstar help? There are still some options out there for UNC, but Davis needs to act fast.

Wing help is the priority, with some European prospects being linked to the team. At the same time, countless eyes remain on Jamir Watkins to see if he pulls out of the NBA Draft or not. If he does, Davis needs to go all-in to land him.

For now, this UNC side doesn't look ready to push for a deep March Madness run next campaign. If that ends up being the case, Dauster won't be too surprised by things. Hubert Davis still has time to add some exciting help before the season gets underway. Only time will tell if he does or not.
