It's that time of the year again!
The Nike EYBL's first live evaluation period of 2025 is underway in Memphis, Tennessee, as Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are represented at this event.
As noted by Jamie Shaw of On3, Davis was one of a handful of coaches court side on Friday night, taking a closer look at two of the top available players from the Class of 2027.
CJ Rosser, arguably the top overall player in the Class of 2027 and King Gibson, the best combo guard in this recruiting class, are drawing plenty of attention on the Nike EYBL Circuit, as North Carolina is keeping close tabs on both players.
Let's remember: Rosser was the first player from the Class of 2027 to receive an offer from the UNC basketball program. The Rocky Mount, North Carolina native has been on the Tar Heels radar for a while now, and that interest doesn't appear to be fading anytime soon.
As for Gibson, he does not yet have an offer from North Carolina. However, that might change in the near future, especially if he performs well in front of the Tar Heels coaching staff.
There will be plenty of players that the UNC basketball program will keep close tabs on during this recruiting cycle, as the Nike EYBL Circuit will provide plenty of opportunities for the coaching staff to identify potential fits for their future rosters. Events like these start to give us a better idea as to who the Tar Heels could be targeting and what prospects could earn a spot on their radar as the recruiting cycle heats up.
