UPDATE: Things can change with recruiting at any second - which is the case with Stojakovic. Shortly after this article was published, he announced he has committed to Illinois.
Is Hubert Davis going to end up pulling a rabbit out of his hat? When it comes to standout transfer guard Andrej Stojakovic, it looks like his final decision could be coming at any moment. On Sunday, he said goodbye to the Cal Golden Bears.
Shortly after that, he announced on social media that he's now down to three schools. Stanford, Illinois and North Carolina basketball remain in the hunt to sign him. Stanford is where he started off his career, while Illinois has long been considered the favorite this spring.
However, Davis and his coaches have been putting on the full-court press to land him over the past week or so, which has been an interesting twist. It's clear the Tar Heels have made him a top priority. Again, Illinois is considered the favorite, but will Davis end up pulling off this hoops miracle to improve his roster?

Andrej Stojakovic has UNC in his Top 3 with a decision coming soon
Had you asked us about a week ago, we would have gone ahead and assumed that Stojakovic would be Illinois-bound. He took a visit there and several recruiting experts put in their predictions for him to join the Big Ten side. However, things have changed there a bit.
Carolina is doing all that it can to bring Stojakovic to Chapel Hill, while there's still the possibility that the veteran guard stays in the Bay Area and suits up for the Cardinal again. Things are a bit up in the air here, but with a decision coming this week, some closure will be on the way.
Davis signing Stojakovic would be a program-changing move. With Drake Powell entering his name into the NBA Draft, it leaves a massive hole for this team in 2025-26. Stojakovic averaged nearly 18 points per game last season and he'd immediately become a top scoring option for Davis if he indeed chooses the Tar Heels. No one knows where he'll be committing too, but the fact that UNC is a finalist continues to give people hope that the Heels can somehow get this done.
