This is just one that's going to sting for a little while. North Carolina has been a bit inconsistent to start the new year, with the 14-point loss to SMU only being made worse with a late meltdown to Stanford on Wednesday night.

Postgame Hubert Davis quote somehow made the loss to Stanford worse

Sorry, but this was a game the Tar Heels had no business losing. Also, where were the in-game adjustments from head man Hubert Davis? Unfortunately, him not mixing things up has become something the UNC faithful have gotten way too used to.

Davis also giving Jonathan Powell limited minutes? Make it make sense. As you might have been able to guess, fans were not happy with Davis after the final whistle, with countless people taking to social media to let him have it. Unfortunately, people once again are questioning if he's the right man for the job.

North Carolina fans are livid with Hubert Davis following the loss to Stanford

Stanford just kept running the same offensive set late in the action, yet UNC had no answers there. Davis decided to just stick with the game plan when it was clearly not working. That's what has so many people pretty dang upset right now.

There are many more posts just like the ones above. What's wild is that North Carolina is ranked No. 14 in the country and before the recent losses, things were looking pretty darn solid for the team. However, the loss to SMU proved to be an eye-opener, with things only made worse thanks to the Cardinal.

It's now on Davis to mix things up, especially with Cal next up on the schedule. Duke just used a spirited defensive effort to take down the Golden Bears, but will North Carolina follow suit? We hope so, because if Davis and Co. suffer another loss, even more calls will be coming in from people to let him go. There's time for UNC to get things back on track, but it's on Davis to make that happen.
