If the loss to Stanford wasn't bad enough, Hubert Davis' post game press conference will surely make it 1000x worse.
Following the game, Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar spoke to the media about what occurred. While both were frustrated (as they should be), they provided some in-depth responses to the questions that were posed.
Hubert Davis, on the other hand...
Caleb Wilson discusses SMU's offensive attack
Shelby Swanson of The News & Observer asked about Stanford's ability to capitalize on the UNC basketball program's defensive switches. In response to the question, Wilson provided the following response.
Stanford seemed to really be attacking UNC’s switches tonight. I asked Caleb Wilson about it after No. 14 UNC’s 95-90 loss to Stanford.

“They ran the same play pretty much every time down the court… they stuck to exactly what was working.”

Essentially, Wilson confirmed that Stanford kept running the same play. They do what the Tar Heels fail to do: stick with what's working.
Just a few minutes later, Davis was asked his opinion on what Wilson had to say.
Hubert's mind-boggling response
Davis was simply asked if he agreed with Wilson's observation. Instead of giving his own opinion of what he thought, the head coach of the Tar Heels refused to provide a valid answer.
Before you watch his response, make sure there's nothing around you that you can throw. His answer is one that will make you want to scream in frustration.

What in the bejeebies?
Hubert Davis doesn't curse. We all know that. But MAN he makes it difficult for all of us not to.
It's understandable that he doesn't want to respond directly to Caleb Wilson's assessment without knowing the context. However, as a head coach of one of the Blue Blood programs in college basketball, can't you provide your own opinion on the question?
No one said he even had to agree with Wilson, all the question did was ask Davis to give his own mindset on the issue.
In context: Hubert couldn't agree with his star player
Let's face it: if Davis agreed with Wilson, even more scrutiny would be heading his way for not putting his team in a position to make adjustments and stop the trend. It just goes to show how poorly coached this team is, as every ACC opponent has had their way offensively against the Tar Heels while the staff, led by Davis (whose job security is getting worse by the day) stands on the sidelines and just expects his team to play NBA caliber defense.
The real issue is: why aren't adjustments being made, and how come Hubert Davis isn't taking responsibility for what's going on with this UNC basketball team?
