Quinn Costello has burst onto the scene, earning a major rise in the latest Class of 2026 rankings.
Following an impressive couple of months on the court, Costello has found his way into Rivals' top-30 rankings. As his recruitment starts to heat up, the Boston, Massachusetts native is now focused on six finalists, one of which is the UNC basketball program.

North Carolina stands as the lone ACC program still in the mix. Joining the Tar Heels among the finalists in Costello's recruitment include Michigan, Michigan State, Texas, Purdue and Minnesota.
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program jumped into the mix late, extending an offer to Costello on July 3. Now, just over a month later, the Tar Heels find themselves among the finalists, as they've made up enough ground to compensate for their late arrival in his recruitment process.
Costello fits the bill of what the UNC basketball program looks for in a "stretch four." He is a player who can score from anywhere on the floor and one who doesn't slack off on the defensive end either, as he has built a reputation as a lockdown defender who is an above-average shot blocker.
The UNC basketball program has been searching for the ideal "stretch four" to fit their system. Similar to what Brady Manek brought to the table during his lone season in Chapel Hill, Costello has the potential to be a similar player given his size and skillset.
Now, the race is on to land this high-rising Class of 2026 standout. The question remains: can the UNC basketball program find a way to bring Quinn Costello to Chapel Hill?
It would be a massive addition for North Carolina if they can find a way to secure a commitment from him.
