We've all heard the old saying, "it's not how you start, it's how you finish."
When it comes to Class of 2026 prospect Quinn Costello, the quote above fits how his recruitment has gone.
Over the last few weeks, the 6-foot-10 forward has garnered a significant amount of interest from several notable programs. The reason for the swift change in interest is due to his recent play on the basketball court, as he was recently named Co-MVP of the Pangos All-American Camp.
.@PangosAACamp Co-MVP Quinn Costello’s stock is SOARING! 📈 The 6’10 wing impressed NBA scouts and top media via three point shot-making & high-flying dunks. Recently picked up offers from Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Illinois. pic.twitter.com/ad2sYVzoyS

In fact, the following programs have extended offers his way since May 27:
Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Michigan, Purdue, Texas, Michigan State, Syracuse, Providence, Texas A&M, Maryland and Wake Forest.
Needless to say: the interest in Costello is skyrocketing, and now you can add another offer to his list of suitors.
Excited to announce that I have received a Division 1 offer from The University of North Carolina! I’m grateful to Coach Davis, Coach Lebo, and the rest of the staff for this opportunity. Go Heels! pic.twitter.com/b8yXSLhZUT

The Boston, Massachusetts native shared on social media that he has received a scholarship offer from the Tar Heels. He becomes the 11th player from the Class of 2026 to be extended an offer from Hubert Davis and company.
Considered a four-star talent, Costello is the highest-ranked prospect out of the state of Massachusetts (according to 247Sports). He's also regarded as a top-75 prospect, coming in at No. 72 overall in the site's current rankings.
Costello fits the bill of what the Tar Heels look for in a "stretch four," as he's a guy who can score from anywhere on the floor. He doesn't slack off on the defensive end either, as he has built a reputation as a lockdown type of defender who is an above-average shot blocker.
If you watch him in action, you can see why Davis and the UNC basketball program are showing interest in luring him to Chapel Hill. He wasn't a guy that jumped on program's radars early on, but he continues to prove that he's a much better player than his current rankings tend to indicate.
