Tommy Lloyd addressed the rumors of his potential interest in taking over as North Carolina's men's basketball coach, but his answer is one you'd expect from a man whose current team is still vying for a national championship.

However, let us dream a minute here...

Tommy Lloyd didn't fully deny his interest in the job

If you listen to Lloyd's statement, it's one that is very political in nature.

"I already have one of the best jobs in the country. One thing we talk about all the time is the ability to have full focus and be present in the moment... I think we have a chance to advance in this tournament. This team deserves my full focus. There is not one thing that's gonna knock me off that path."

"Focused on the moment," Lloyd admitted his current concern is toward helping Arizona make a run to the national championship game. However, he never flat-out said he had no interest in other opportunities (specifically North Carolina's recently-available head coaching job), which provides a glimmer of hope that he is actually interested in the gig, but is currently just giving us all a really good poker face.

Lloyd would be a home run hire

The Tar Heels are legit swinging for the fences, and pursuing a candidate like Lloyd indicates as much. While Lloyd will say all the right things while he's still in-season with the Arizona Wildcats, the real test will come when the season ends to see if his tune changes about the possibility of taking over at the helm in Chapel Hill.
