This horrific Hubert Davis stat shows there's smoke to UNC fans wanting him gone

All eyes are on Bubba Cunningham, as he has quite the decision on his hands. Now that we've had some time to digest the North Carolina loss to VCU, sorry, but we're still mad. And with that, a lot of the anger for so many people continues to be pointed at Hubert Davis.

What's the Hubert Davis buyout? UNC has no reason not to make a change

This game was over in the second half. UNC was flirting with a 20-point lead and the Tar Heels were in cruise control. However, Davis thought it was smart to have Henri Veesaar and Seth Trimble run a marathon instead of going to his bench.

In the end, the Rams ended up forcing overtime and then UNC couldn't buy a bucket in the extra session to save its season. To make things worse, it was the second time in NCAA Tournament history the Heels have blown a 10-point lead at half. Both those losses belong to HD:

UNC fans have made it quite clear they want Hubert Davis to get fired

The loss in the National Championship Game to Kansas was one thing, but the loss to VCU - why does it seem like both hurt the same way? Maybe it's because North Carolina had no business suffering such an embarrassing exit.

Again, this group was in cruise control, but the Heels continuously kept tripping over their own feet. The late free-throw issues were a joke. Not being able to get the ball in bounds cleanly? The 5-second call that set up the VCU bucket to force OT was enough to make everyone pull their hair out. Personally, I'm starting to lose my hair, but I still did it.

In all seriousness, Davis reminded us all once again that as much as he means to the program and as much as we love him, he's not the right man for the job. A first-round loss in the Big Dance is never going to be acceptable for the Tar Heels. Soon enough, we'll find out if Cunningham makes what might be a tough decision, but in all reality it seems like it should be an easy one for him.
