If the second-half collapse from North Carolina didn't frustrate you enough, just wait until you hear what Hubert Davis had to say in his postgame media conference!
Hubert Davis always knows the right things to say
I hope everyone got my sarcasm with the above caption...
After Seth Trimble and Henri Veesaar answered a few questions from the media panel, it was Davis' turn to take the hot seat (no pun intended).
The first question he was asked: did he sense his team got a little tired down the stretch?
Tyler Hansbrough is UNC fans everywhere after embarrassing March Madness exit
"I did not. I didn’t."
In a follow-up question, Davis was asked why he elected to go to a six-man rotation in the second half, shortening his rotation from what we saw in the first half.
His answer provides so much context!
"Because that was my decision."
Just wait, you think that's bad, just wait until you hear this one!
The question: Coach, generally, what do you think went wrong?
Hubert Davis' response: "What do you mean?"
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! Did you miss your team's second half meltdown against VCU, one in which you blew a 19-point lead?
Davis' press conference somehow makes things even worse
Sure, Davis was frustrated with his team's loss. We get that.
However, the way he responsed to the questions were not only snippy in nature, but showed that he clearly is tone deaf to what is going on with his team.
Everyone else saw how gassed the players he rode for 40+ minutes were down the stretch. The entire country saw how things took a turn for a worse and could name multiple factors in which helped lead to the blown lead.
Whether he just didn't want to answer the question or is totally oblivious, Davis continues to make it difficult to support him as the head coach of this program moving forward.
