The official visit schedule for Nasir Anderson bodes well for Michael Malone and UNC

In the world of recruiting, the official visit schedule does sometimes have an impact on where a recruit elects to commit to.

For some, they fall in love with the first place they visit, making it nearly impossible for the other programs who secured a visit to match what the initial stop had to offer. In the case of others, the last visit makes the biggest impact.

In the case of five-star guard Nasir Anderson, UNC not only loves that they are getting a visit from him, but they have to be thrilled with how the schedule played out.

Nasir Anderson's reported official visit schedule could benefit UNC

Last week, Anderson narrowed his recruitment down to 10 finalists, a group that includes North Carolina. Now, the Prolific Prep star has scheduled eight official visits, with UNC currently being the final stop on his recruitment tour.

Here's how the official visit schedule is currently slated for Anderson:

Providence: September 4
Virginia: September 11
Syracuse: September 19
USC: September 24
Kentucky: October 5
Georgia: October 9
Tennessee: October 15
North Carolina: October 30

As long as no other visits are put into place, which is possible considering other schools are trying to make a push into his recruitment, Chapel Hill will be the final stop on his official visit tour.

For someone who has said in the past that he grew up a Tar Heel fan, maybe the "saving the best for last" concept is one we can apply here.

Although he was forced to miss the summer months due to a hip injury, Anderson is still widely regarded as a top-10 recruit in the 2027 class. There's a lot to like about his overall game, as Jamie Shaw of Rivals provided the intel on just what he brings to the table:

“Anderson is an aggressive guard at the point of attack. Much of what allows him to be so aggressive is his physicality; he is in the 6-foot-3, 215 range. With his sturdy frame, huge hands, and lengthy arms, Anderson also has incredible balance. The lefty has a solid feel and is an aggressive defensive presence guarding the ball. While not a good shooter, he is unique, and we all know how much I like unique.”

Some might think that the schedule doesn't impact a player's recruitment, but in the long run, the strategy behind it could make all the difference. North Carolina has a legitimate chance with anyone who visits campus, but it is always nice to have that first or last say in a particular athlete's recruitment, sending a clear message that Chapel Hill is the right place to be.

Michael Malone and the Tar Heels will be very busy this fall, hosting some of the top available players in the Class of 2027. They aren't stopping there, as some Class of 2028 members already want to see what Chapel Hill is all about.

The date is now set for Nasir Anderson's official visit, one that all Tar Heel fans will be keeping a close on as the visit approaches.
