“Honestly, the fans. As long as I’ve been in college I haven’t gotten to play for a fan base like this. I’m looking forward to being able to come to every home game and having it be packed out with diehard fans. And, obviously, I haven’t really won in college, and I hear people saying that. Winning is my biggest focus going into this season, that’s the most important thing.”
Brown wasn't throwing shade at either of his previous stops, Fairleigh Dickinson (a lower-level Division I program in New Jersey) or Utah (a team that struggled mightily a season ago). He understands that it's just different at North Carolina, a Blue Blood program with a historic resume.
Matt Able reveals why the NBA could wait, and joining UNC had to happen
Whether at home or on the road, fans flock to see the Tar Heels in action. For a competitor like Brown, who wouldn't embrace the opportunity to play in front of one of the largest fanbases in the world, as he is more than ready to compete his tail off to make his own mark on the program before closing out his college basketball career.
Now, it's up to Tar Heel faithful to not disappoint Brown, showing him just how passionate the fan base is about Carolina Basketball. Based on past history, Brown likely won't be disappointed, as UNC nation knows how to bring the energy and excitement whereever the schedule takes the boys in Carolina Blue.
