And just like that, the positive energy is back in full force for UNC and Michael Malone. In case you missed it, Matt Able announced he's taking his name out of the NBA Draft to play for the Heels. This is also incredible news for fellow transfer guard Terrence Brown, as the two are expected to be total studs playing with one another at the Dean Dome and on the road.
Matt Able finally made the UNC-NBA Draft call that was a no-brainer for him
While Able was on his grind at the NBA Combine, Brown has essentially been living in the gym this spring working to keep developing his game now that he's going to be ACC-bound. Well, a new highlight clip of his offseason workouts has arrived and something tells us UNC supporters are going to be left favorably impressed:

Terrence Brown continues to prove how strong of a get he was for UNC and Michael Malone
Yup, this kid is going to be a primetime player in 2026-27. Last season for Utah, Brown was terrific with the ball in hands, averaging nearly 20 points per game. He's a sharpshooter who can bury shots from all over the hardwood. When he catches fire, good luck in trying to slow him down.
He'll be an immediate starter for Malone and, again, him and Able on the hardwood together is going to give opposing defenses all sorts of issues. With Jarin Stevenson and Neoklis Avdalas also locked into the starting lineup, things are really taking shape for Malone and his staff.
What will happen at the five? For now, 5-star center Sayon Keita will be the one to man the spot, but everyone continues to be on commit watch when it comes to Alexandros Samodurov. That appears to be the final piece of the puzzle for UNC's lineup, though you never know if Malone has a trick up his sleeve no one is talking about.
What we do know, however, is that Able will for sure be back, and Brown is only going to stay on his grind leading up to the new season. When the Tar Heels first landed his pledge, people were pretty dang fired up and the fact that he's working so hard to keep improving makes things even better for the Heels.
Throughout his recruitment, there were several schools that were working overtime to land Brown, but UNC and Malone were able to beat out Kansas, Kentucky and others. The hype is through the roof for Brown once the 2026-27 campaign gets here, but there's no doubt in our mind at all that he's going to live up to things for this group.
