The UNC women's basketball program defeated UNC Wilmington by a score of 77-50 on Thursday night in Chapel Hill.

North Carolina got off to an early lead and never let up, pulling off another double-digit victory to improve to 2-0 on the early 2024-2025 season.

Following the season opener, we awarded our "Tar Heels of the Game" to two newcomers who impressed in their UNC women's basketball program debuts.

For this game, we stuck a very worthy veteran for the honor:

Lexi Donarski

Donarski was on her game on Thursday night, finishing with a game-high 21 points. As she's done plenty of times so far during her college career, Donarski caught fire from beyond-the-arc, knocking down five triples in the win.

Not only did Donarski impact the game scoring-wise but did a little bit of everything in the victory. She finished the night with four rebounds, three steals and an assist in 30 minutes of action.

While the team struggled a bit in terms of shooting percentage, Donarski was able to efficiently and effectively knock down her shots. You can already tell that the fifth-year guard is benefitting from the additional floor spacing that this team can provide for her to work with.

Lexi Donarski is your "Tar Heel of the Game" for the UNC women's basketball program's victory over UNC Wilmington. The question remains: who will earn the honor when the UNC women's basketball program takes on North Carolina A&T on Tuesday night?
