On Sunday night, the top 16 teams for the upcoming NCAA Tournament were revealed, a list that was guaranteed to include the UNC baseball program. Considered one of the best teams in the country, the Diamond Heels were expected to host; it was only a matter of where the committee seeded them (if their resume was good enough to earn a top eight seed to host potentially through the Super Regionals) and whom they would host to begin regional tournament play.
Well, one of those factors is officially revealed; now we wait for Monday's announcement of the field of teams for this year's event.
For the third consecutive season and the fourth time in five years, the Diamond Heels will serve as one of the hosts, providing more opportunities for Tar Heel faithful to make their way to the Bosh this season to see their favorite team in action.

The Tar Heels have made it a habit not only to host but also to be a national seed. That's the goal that elite-level programs set out for from the very start of the season, making the path to Omaha go through their respective city. North Carolina is expected to be a top-eight national seed, but we'll have to wait until Monday's official announcement to find out if the Diamond Heels' path goes fully through Chapel Hill.
As Dorothy famously said in The Wizard of Oz, "There's no place like home!" The Tar Heels are well aware of how home-field advantage is critical this time of year, and we've all witnessed the insane "Bosh Magic" that just happens to surface around this time every year.
Whether you're in the Chapel Hill area or not, it's time to make our way to Boshamer Stadium to support the boys in Carolina Blue. This is now becoming an annual event, one that features an excellent team on the field and an insanely rowdy crowd who will do everything in their power to help the Diamond Heels capture some postseason victories.
A new season is set to begin, one that will start up right where it was designed to from the beginning: on the home field of Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill.
