The UNC basketball program has made its pursuit of Class of 2025 four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis official.

After expressing interest in Lewis recently, the Tar Heels have now extended him a scholarship offer. The Washington, DC native made it known via social media about his latest offer from North Carolina.

Lewis is currently viewed as the No. 72 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 (according to 247Sports Composite), but that should change when the next set of rankings are released. Given the recent spark in interest, don't be surprised to see the 6-foot-2 guard move his way up the rankings.

The UNC basketball program wasn't the only one to extend an offer to Lewis on Wednesday, as the Tennessee Volunteers made one of their own just hours after North Carolina did. In recent weeks, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Miami have all offered this high-rising talent, as it's expected that more are going to follow over the next couple of weeks.

Hubert Davis was in Orlando, Florida, at the NBPA event at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on the campus of Walt Disney World and was able to see Lewis, along with fellow UNC basketball recruiting target Malachi Moreno in action. After once again watching Lewis compete live, it was enough to convince the Tar Heels head coach that this was a guy he wanted to convince to make his way to Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels have had success in regard to recruiting during the early years of the Hubert Davis era, as this incoming class features two of the top-20 ranked prospects in the country. In a system that allows guards to play freely and with a ton of pace, North Carolina may end up being an enticing landing spot for Lewis as he looks closer into his options over the next few months.
