It's one of the busiest recruiting weekends of the year for college coaches around the country, as Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball staff are at it early watching some of their top recruiting targets.

Brandon Ramsey of Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Hubert Davis and two members of the UNC basketball program's coaching staff are on-hand to watch five-star talent Koa Peat compete for the Compton Magic in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

We've heard a lot about Peat, the No. 5 ranked player in the Class of 2025 according to 247Sports. In a graduating class that features a good amount of star-studded talent, Peat still is regarded as one of the top prospects that this class has to offer, as plenty of schools are still vying for him to join their program next year.

In January, Peat narrowed his recruitment down to 10 teams, including the UNC basketball program, after officially visiting Chapel Hill last fall. The Gilbert, Arizona native seems to be a top priority for Davis and his staff, as they are making every effort to add him to their 2025 recruiting class.

Peat is a dynamic forward who can impact the game in a variety of ways, as his skillset would be a tremendous fit to what Hubert Davis is looking to do with his teams. The 6-foot-8 forward will be an immediate contributor whereever he goes, as he has the makings of being a one-and-done prospect who could easily end up being a lottery pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Over the next few weekends, the UNC basketball program's coaching staff will be focused on watching some of their top recruiting targets. Given the crew that they rolled up with to watch Koa Peat, it's an indication of their game plan as they look lure some top-tier talent to Chapel Hill.
