UNC Basketball Recruiting: Koa Peat narrows recruitment down to 10 schools
Koa Peat has been one of the most-sought after players in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-8 forward from Gilbert, Arizona had over 30 offers from some of the top-tier programs in the country, a list of offers that included the UNC basketball program.
Peat ranks as the No. 4 player in his class and the top prospect coming out of the state of Arizona (according to 247Sports). As his recruitment starts to heat up, Peat is ready to focus his attention to ten schools, as North Carolina is still in the mix.
Peat will be considering the following schools moving forward: Arizona State, Arizona, Baylor, Houston, Texas, Michigan, North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, and UCLA. Some of the schools that didn't make the cut include the likes of Alabama, Memphis, Indiana, Kansas, Tennessee, USC, and Michigan State (among many others).
Peat has taken an official visit to North Carolina already, as Texas and Michigan are the only other programs that hosted the talented forward for an official visit. At this point, it is unsure of what other schools Peat will officially visit during his recruitment process.
This is big recruiting news for the UNC basketball program, as Hubert Davis and company hope to continue their recruiting success into the 2025 recruiting class. The Class of 2025 has a lot of top-tier talent among it, as it will be interesting to see if the Tar Heels land a few of these highly-sought after student-athletes once its all said and done.
There's still plenty of time left in his recruitment, but you have to be encouraged by where the Tar Heels currently stand in the recruitment battle for five-star Koa Peat.
