Keep your eye on these UNC Basketball recruits at the 2024 Peach Jam event
One of the nation's most prestigious amateur basketball recruiting showcases, Peach Jam, begins this Saturday, July 13. Some of the nation's top high school talents who have been competing in Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) will meet in Augusta, South Carolina, for an exciting week-long tournament.
The 28th edition of the annual event will feature three age divisions (U17, U16, U15) and a slew of UNC Basketball recruits competing for the championship title.
Cayden and Cameron Boozer, twin sons of the NBA star and former Duke basketball star Carlos Boozer, will compete for Florida's Nightrydas Elite team.
Cayden is currently the second-ranked player nationally in the Class of 2025, while his twin brother Cameron is ranked No. 19 in the nation by 247 Sports. While their father may be an iconic figure for the Blue Devils, that hasn't stopped Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program from trying to recruit the dynamic duo.
Davis offered both players in May 2023, and Cayden has listed the Tar Heels as one of the top five schools recruiting him the hardest.
The Nightrydas Elite roster also features Caleb Wilson, another UNC Basketball target. North Carolina offered the six-foot-eight power forward in May 2023, and 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 1 player in Georgia.
Another player to watch is Jasper Johnson, who received an offer from the North Carolina basketball program last September. The five-star guard played alongside UNC freshman James Brown in high school and has spoken highly of the Tar Heels throughout the recruiting process. Johnson took his second visit to Chapel Hill in June.
Johnson will be competing for Team Thad in the Peach Jam tournament, where he's averaged over 15 points in the EYBL.
All Peach Jam games will be live-streamed on the Nike EYBL website, starting with play-in games on Friday.
