Some more roster moves surfaced on Monday night for the UNC football program as another player has elected to leave the team.

According to Andrew Jones of TarHeel247, offensive tackle Trevyon Green becomes the second player to depart the program this season.

A 6-foot-8, 340-pounder, Green was a full-time starter at right tackle for the UNC football program during the 2024 season. However, his role diminished greatly with the new staff in place, as he played a total of 16 snaps against Charlotte (11) and Richmond (5).

Given how his role has changed drastically, it isn't a surprise to see him looking elsewhere for a better opportunity. Given that he didn't appear in four games, he will be eligible to get this season of eligibility back if he enters the transfer portal during the offseason. If that's the case, Green, a current redshirt junior, would have two seasons of eligibility to work with.

Of course, you never want to lose depth, especially in the trenches. Green worked his way into shape over his time in Chapel Hill, working hard to shed 80 pounds to get into game shape. He became a relied upon tackle for Mack Brown, but that simply didn't hold true for him once Bill Belichick arrived to town.

As he'll likely use the next few months to stay in shape and work on his craft, Green should have no problem finding a new home in the transfer portal. Offensive line depth, especially with prior starting experience, is tough to come by, as Green will be seen as an intriguing candidate for teams who are looking for some talent along the offensive line.

Green is now the second player to leave the program this season, following wide receiver Aziah Johnson's departure just about a week ago.
