James Brown has found himself a new home.
After two disappointing seasons at North Carolina, Brown entered the transfer portal this offseason. While there hasn't been much chatter about his recruitment, we found out on Saturday night that he has committed to Howard University.

Kevin Sweeney was the first to report the news of Brown committing to play for Kenneth Blakeney and the Bison.
Brown didn't see much action on the court at North Carolina, as he was limited to just 27 total games over his two seasons in Chapel Hill. Of those 27 appearances, 18 came during his true freshman season, as he was limited to just 9 games this season after undergoing season-ending surgery in February.
The hope was that Brown would be able to contribute off the bench, providing a boost when the likes of Henri Veesaar, Jarin Stevenson, and Caleb Wilson needed a breather. Brown underwent a complete body overhaul this offseason, putting in the work to make it possible, but it just simply didn't work out.
Now, Brown aims for a clean bill of health as he aspires to reach the top-100 prospect ranking potential he showcased throughout his high school career.
In total, 9 Tar Heels entered the transfer portal this offseason, which was expected following the program's decision to part ways with Hubert Davis. Two of those players (Isaiah Denis and Jaydon Young) elected to return for another season, while the other six have now all officially found new homes.
Here's the full offseason breakdown in regard to former Tar Heels who are heading elsewhere this offseason:
Luka Bogavac- Oklahoma State
James Brown- Howard
Derek Dixon- Arizona
Kyan Evans- Minnesota
Zayden High- South Florida
Jonathan Powell- Pittsburgh
There is one more Tar Heel currently searching for a new home in the transfer portal, as Ivan Matlekovic is still available as of this post.
